Last Stand Rail Jam
SATURDAY APRIL 19, 2025

Welcome to the end-of-the-season contest held in The Sticks, Mt. Baker Ski Area’s Freestyle Feature Zone located off of C-¾!!
The Last Stand Rail Jam represents the culmination of the freestyle season in MBSA’s Freestyle Feature Zone. Making their last stand, competitors will have an opportunity to show off the progression they have made shredding The Sticks, while enjoying a festive spring atmosphere.
This contest is for Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced level freestyle skiers and snowboarders and will feature an exclusive rail setup for contestants separate from the public line. The contest will be in a jam format with heats divided by ability level. Within each heat skiers will compete against other skiers and snowboarders against snowboarders. Hiking the course is advisable vs. riding the chairlift, given the timeframe, but not required. Spectator areas outside the course will be available for noncompetitors to watch the event.

COMPETITION RULES & JUDGING CRITERIA
RULES OF THE GAME
W.A.C.K. JUDGING
This is a competitor judged event using the W.A.C.K. Judging System. Each category will vote on a standout at the conclusion of their Heat.
Watch: Observe fellow competitors as they ski or ride the features.
Acknowledge: Show support to fellow competitors during the Heat and afterwards as part of selecting a standout.
Consensus: At the end of a Heat, competitors will come together to discuss the tricks that took place within their Heat and determine a standout based on the overall performance of their fellow competitors.
Keep at it: If a consensus for a standout is not reached at the end of a Heat, competitors within that Heat may self-select to enter into a Showdown.
SHOWDOWN
Each person who chooses to enter the Showdown will have up to 3 attempts at hitting a feature decided upon by the group who chooses to participate in the showdown. If a specific feature(s) cannot be decided on, the Event Director will choose. Once the 3 attempts have concluded a determination by members of the Heat, who did not participate in the Showdown for Standout will be made based on the performance within the Showdown. If no consensus is reached, the Event Director will make a determination on the overall Standout from both the Heat and Showdown.
All participants are required to review the Freestyle Feature Zone Safety information.
